Ideas for RoomKeyPMS

It would be useful for RoomKey to enable an overbooking by room type. I have worked with this feature in the past in Opera PMS.

For a very small hotel with several different room categories - inventory becomes imbalanced very easily. Enabling overbooking by room type would allow hotels to continue to accept reservations for their standard room past their actual inventory levels during low seasons. Currently, the staff at my hotels are manually balancing inventory each day to avoid missing a multi-night reservation due to inventory imbalances. Guests are currently being upgraded to higher room categories prematurely to open up standard room inventory and create a better flow. By allowing overbooking by room type, inventory can be balanced much closer to the arrival date based on the rate each guest pays. It would also provide a better opportunity for upsells.
