Note: Ideas submitted to this portal are for collaboration and brainstorm for future releases. This portal is monitored but it not to be utilized as a support ticket system. We will facilitate a professional code of conduct to create meaningful discussion around product development. If you require customer support please email support@roomkeypms.com or visit http://roomkeypms.com/support/.
If you are in a guest reservation you should be able to select "Enable Room Assignment" without unchecking the room type itself. When you presently enable the assignment and then assign the room, when you go to select the room type again, you must enable overbooking. This is not true overbooking in most cases and an unneeded error.
How would you rate the importance of this idea? | Critical to operating our Hotel |
Thank you for your suggestion to our Ideas portal!
As a side note:
1. Click change Reservation
2. Un-check the book box
3. Click refresh
4.Enable Assignment and choose room
This allows you to assign the room number without clicking overbook (unless you are oversold or a group block that is in cutoff).
I would agree that the un-book should no need to be used.
As another suggestion, I would recommend Operations => Room Assignment for assigning rooms.
We do a release every 45 days, the fastest in the industry, and based on the needs of all our customers this feature idea will go into our product planning process

This warning is unnessary and recently caused a new staff member to overbook us, because, they had become so used to ignoring warning, they happily accepted the overbooking situation and proceeded. If the warning had been used ONLY when an actual overbooking was to occur, no overbooking would have occured, as they would not have been "trained" by the software to accept overbooking warnings as mundane.
Please, keep the Overbooking warning, but use the overbooking warning when actually causing an overbooking, not modifying a booking when we are merely already full...
I agree that the current "there is an overbooking situation" notice has little relevance to the reality of overbooking situations due to this very issue. I do not mind unchecking the room type to allow for assigning of a room; however, the overbooking error which occurs constantly needs to be fixed as this is critical to our hotel’s operations.
