Many hotel properties have so much more to communicate to guests beyond confirmation numbers, dates, and other things found in the confirmation report. Being able to add more to the email template, beyond the confirmation report, gives hotels marketing and branding opportunities, a place for check in instructions, and a place to add a friendly thank you for booking. Yes, additional attachments can be added for these things, but the chance of guests seeing them in attachments is significantly lower than when they are in the body of the email.
