Ideas for RoomKeyPMS

The goal of this portal is to:

  1. Collect your suggestions and ideas on RoomKeyPMS features
  2. To better understand your priorities   
  3. Review your ideas when planning the RoomKeyPMS roadmap  
  4. Update you on the features being considered and implemented in future releases

Calendar Date Highlights



We are a new client of RoomKey.  So new in fact that we are still undergoing our initial training.  However, I had an idea I wanted to share with you …


Referring to the calendar found on the Reservation NEW screen …  Would it be possible to BOLD text or otherwise identify certain dates on the calendar?  One of two thoughts on which dates are highlighted:

  1. RoomKey has a set list of 10-12 dates throughout the year that are highlighted --- Memorial Day, Labor Day, Presidents Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve or Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day … day’s in which a guest may call for a reservation and say “I want to stay on ___” or I want to come up the Thursday before ___”
  2. Individual locations are able to establish dates for themselves – unique to their needs (perhaps in addition to the 10-12 RoomKey has selected).


In either example described above if you hover the mouse over or perhaps right click on the highlighted date a tag pops up … “Memorial Day”, “Presidents Day”, etc.


Why?  Often guests will state “I want to come up the Thursday before Memorial Day”; “I’d like to come up for Christmas in July” (a holiday celebrated on the islands just off shore from us – i.e. reason for option 2 above).  Yes, the reservationist should remember July 4th or Christmas or New Year’s Eve … but … it might be good to have the added identifier just to help them along.  Additionally, if this same option is offered for on-line bookings it may help the guest from their end as well.
