Having a "Day Use" function for after midnight walk-ins would be extremely helpful, useful and practical for the hotel property. Hotel front desk agent (or night audit) would be able to designate a "0" day stay and the check out date would be for the SAME DAY as check in. For example, check in date of 12/30/20 and check out date of 12/30/20. This benefits not only front desk but also housekeeping so they know that room xxx is checking out today. Currently, Roomkey is set up where for a after midnight check in on 12/30/20, the check out date is 12/31/20. This creates confusion oftentimes and is easy to overlook. The night auditor would have to manually mark the housekeeping sheet for a same day checkout. If he/she forgets it, it is overlooked and the room does not get cleaned that day.
Note: Other PMS systems such as Opera PMS offer a Day Use function with a '0' day stay for situations such as a after midnight walk-in.

I agree!! Having a day use option would allow for less confusion for FD and HSKP when you have a guest that needs a room without an overnight option, such as an 8 hour office use. I have used Opera PMS and that 0 day stay was a benefit. I am finding there is a lot of follow up without it and sometimes it gets lost in the passing down. Great idea!
